Though in Arabic history, there have been several warrior knights just as valiant and epic as Antar, the notion of being faithful to only one woman has been deemed unthinkable given the great reputation of these knights. However, that has not been the case for Antar; his romance with his one and truly Abla has been one of the most beloved love stories in Persian history and is continued to be told till this day.

Abla, his cousin, was undoubtedly a woman of great beauty, whom Antar first laid eyes on as a slave while refilling waterjugs for his master. However, after his victorious battle against the enemies of Banu Abs and becoming a free man, Antar approached Abla with clear intentions of marriage and asked for permission from his uncle. Despite Antar's heroic reputation, Abla's father and Antar's uncle was discontent given his fomer status as a slave and thus brought up a condition of bringing thousand red camels in exchange for his permission. Antar complied and decided to raid King Noaman's pastures who was known for his great ownership of these rare camels.

As impossible as it sounded, Antar also failed. However, having heard of Antar's great reputation, King Noaman offers to give him 1000 camels if Antar agrees to serve him for a period of time; Antar agress and serves him a total of three years. After finishing his period of service, Antar returns to Abla with presents of gold and money and 1000 camels to which Abla's father cannot but give his permission to their marriage; thus, Abla and Antar live a life of happily ever after.
